clappamungusI just sent the following email to Steve Fielding's email address, regarding his "extremely well-informed decision" (there's a reason that this is in quotations) to block the government's emissions trading scheme.
Dear Steve (I am not going to insult your lack of intelligence by referring to you as "Sir" or "Hon so-and-so", or even as "Mr Fielding"),
Your utter stupidity astounds me.
I cannot fathom how you think that you have the right to hijack government policy, simply because you are too narrow-minded, foolish and backwards to believe people who are much better qualified than you in regards to the scientific method. Speaking as a scientist myself, I am utterly fed up with morons like you who misunderstand the scientific process and can so blithely say things like "it's junk science", when I doubt that you know much about the science in question in the first place.
If you had your way, we'd all be "learning" about how God created the world in seven days, wouldn't we?
You are a disgrace to politics, and you have reduced the already-pathetic legislation that the government was proposing we adopt to a mere shadow of a badly thought-out joke. But as you are a mere joke yourself, this should not surprise me.
I know that this email will be probably be one of thousands which your secretary will no doubt delete immediately, or delete after noting that it's a dissenting position on your scoreboard of "How Many Sycophants Love me Today! vs How Many Eeeeevil People Are Going to Heeeeell!", but I cannot stand it any longer. I cannot stand to watch you make a mockery of the political process in this country, and have a say over people with more capacity for rational thought and debate in a single neurone than you do in your entire brain.
The sooner you lose your senate seat and the sooner your dubious legacy is forgotten, the better off this country will be.
